Pray

When we work, we work. When we pray, God works. Everything CEF of Iowa does rests on that, and prayer is not the warm-up to this ministry — it is the ministry. No amount of training, materials, or willing volunteers changes a child’s heart. God does that, and He does it in answer to prayer.

What to pray for

• The children. That those who hear the Gospel in a club would understand it and trust Christ, and that those who already have would grow.
• Open doors. For schools, neighborhoods, community centers, and apartment complexes across Iowa that have never had a club — and for the counties where no child has yet been invited to one.
• Workers. There is more open ground in this state than we have people to cover. Pray the Lord of the harvest would send out workers, and protect and encourage the ones already serving.
• Teachers and hosts. For wisdom with the children in front of them, and for the families who open their yards and homes.
• Our students. For the teens and young adults in CYIA learning to teach children the Gospel.
• Chapters and staff. For the local committees, boards, and staff who make the work possible.

Ways to pray with us

• Pray for a club by name. Ask your chapter for a specific club, teacher, or school to carry.
• Pray as a church or small group. We can bring you real requests from clubs in your area.
• Pray on your own, regularly. A few faithful minutes a week for the same children matters more than you know.
